Press release for G7 Summit in Hiroshima: "No first use of nuclear weapons"
Saturday, 20. May 2023 08:01
Press release:
On behalf of 14 Nobel Prize winners and over 1700 scientists, we call on the G7 heads of state and government to send a strong signal for nuclear weapons control and disarmament at the summit in Hiroshima.
In the face of nuclear threats and global armament, we call on them to sign the no-first use policy and join the Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons.
The G7 summit in Hiroshima offers a historic opportunity. We remember Hiroshima and Nagasaki and call for the problems of our time to be faced. Instead of waging wars, we must work for peace and a sustainable future.
With kind regards
Dr Hannes Jung (Science4Peace Forum - Partner of ICAN)
