Prof. Suzuki already gave a presentation at the Science for Peace Forum in November 2023, which was focussed on humanitarian impacts of nuclear weapon use in Northeast Asia. In the last couple of years, the nuclear threats in that Region have further increased. Therefore, it will be interesting receiving from him an updated view of the situation in that Region, as well as information on possible actions that governments and other policymakers may adopt to reduce the threats. Some concrete ideas are presented in a book *, recently published by Tatsujiro Suzuki together with colleagues from RECNA ** and other institutions. In addition to the status of the situation in Northeast Asia, the speaker will present the key points treated in the book and the relevant reflections they can, and should, trigger. He will be available to interact with the participants after his talk.
